The President of Ukraine has awarded the Order of Courage, Third Class, to Oksana Rubaniak, a student of the Faculty of Management majoring in Public Management and Administration at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. She serves as a platoon commander of unmanned aerial systems, carrying out complex combat missions and bringing Ukraine closer to victory every day.
Oksana dedicated this award to her comrades and to those who gave their lives for Ukraine:
“This award is not so much mine as it belongs to those who stood beside me and continue to walk this path shoulder to shoulder. It is the award of those who gave their lives to protect Ukraine—for all of us.”
Receiving the order on the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer was especially symbolic. As Oksana noted, true volunteers are those who have defended Ukraine since 2014, as well as those who, in 2022, without hesitation, went to defend the country—not because of combat experience, but because of their unbreakable spirit.
During the award ceremony, Oksana presented the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with the patch of her unit, Fiery Wings, as a sign of her commitment to the cause and loyalty to her fellow soldiers.
“We continue to stand guard and restore justice. I serve the people of Ukraine!” she wrote on her Facebook page.
Our university is proud of its student, who embodies courage, dedication, and honor. We firmly believe that Ukraine will achieve victory thanks to heroes like her.
Glory to Ukraine!
