Guest Lecture: “Tax Policy of Ukraine and Its Transformation Under Martial Law”

Students majoring in Public Governance and Administration had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture titled “Tax Policy of Ukraine and Its Transformation Under Martial Law,” delivered by Mariia Yuriyivna Tomyn, a tax expert at the “Etalon” Civic Center and Deputy Chair of the Public Council of the State Tax Service’s Main Directorate in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region. Mariia Yuriyivna introduced the students to the foundational principles of the tax system, along with the mechanisms for implementing tax policy in Ukraine. The tax expert placed particular emphasis on the characteristics of various types of taxes, noting that each tax has specific features and areas of application.

One of the most engaging aspects was the explanation of the concept of a “tax discount.” Mariia Yuriyivna Tomyn provided detailed information on the conditions and procedures for obtaining a tax discount, along with practical examples of its application.

Students learned about the core principles of state tax policy, as well as its impact on the economy and business. The attendees had the chance to discuss pressing issues and receive expert answers to their questions.
