The University for the Region – The Region for the University

On March 3–4, the Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa, is participating in the Х European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki, Republic of Poland.

The event has brought together over 3,000 participants from Central European countries, including representatives of government authorities, local governments, businesses, and educational and research institutions. As part of the panel discussion “Partnership Between Local Governments and Educational Institutions and Their Role in Supporting Education,” Ihor Tsependa presented the successful collaboration experience of Precarpathian University with the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council and the Regional Military Administration.

During the discussion, participants addressed the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and local authorities for regional development, particularly in training specialists, implementing joint research projects, and attracting investments in education and science.

Additionally, within the framework of the Congress, a meeting was held with students of Precarpathian University who are scholarship recipients of the Institute for Eastern Studies Foundation and were invited to participate in the event.

The meeting covered topics such as youth leadership development, international cooperation, and the role of young people in managing regional processes. The participation of students in such a large-scale forum is an important step toward their professional and civic engagement.
